This morning, yet another black man, Keith Lamont Scott, was wrongfully gunned down, reading a book in his car while waiting for his son to be dropped off by a school bus.Literally one day prior, Terence Crutcher was killed by police in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
These situations are heart wrenching, numbing, and infuriating. This year has been littered with instances of police brutality and misuse of power. It’s like a punch in the stomach to wake up every day and realize that things are not changing. Things are not getting better. And all feel powerless to change things, beyond posting a picture or typing a hashtag on social media.
The country needs to stand up for something, and exercise power.
