BB&T Denies Loans to Businesses Benefiting from Eminent Domain
The North Carolina-based bank, which employs more than 28,000 people in 1,400 branches in 11 states, announced last month that it would no longer approve loans for developers who want to pursue commercial enterprises on land seized by the government using the power of eminent domain, or taking private property for public use.
Now, if the rest of the banks would just follow suit maybe we could put a screeching halt to government confiscation of private property so developers can rebuild and give the government more tax money. I think I will change my bank to BB&T and let my current blood suckers know why. Maybe if we all did that the other banks would take notice? The best type of protest is to hit 'em where it hurts the most-in their gotdam balance sheet.
