Last night we took a drive to the founding settlement of my husband's family. The community bears his German last name and, seriously speaking, it is out in the middle of nowheresville.
Settling as early as 1773, it makes one wonder what made this area look so inviting. I have to say it sits on a ridge with a fantastic view.
The teenage girl was a bit unimpressed and asked, "Is this it?"
